Writing this before Royal Ascot kicks off later this week, I am thoroughly looking forward to seeing the photos and coverage of what is always a fantastic event! There has been racing at Ascot since the early eighteenth century and over 300 years later, it remains the pinnacle of the racing and social calendar. 

 

It is a fantastic few days and helps many local charities and organizations, all of which are able to benefit from those visiting; not to mention the many small businesses in the area! 

 

Aside from the awful traffic congestion each year, it can have a massive impact on local communities and I am always delighted to hear stories of the many volunteers that help out; it highlights the great community spirit I so often see in and around the constituency!

 

Each year I am extremely proud of the communities surrounding the immediate area in Ascot and the way in which they deal with such a high number of visitors; the welcome given to the visitors and those residents attending is always warm and friendly and I have nothing but praise for both residents and local emergency services who are on call.

 

Here is to another fantastic Royal Ascot!
