Council Tax Out Of Control

"No matter what we think about council tax in Windsor, we must pay our bills or ultimately face prison!

Last Saturday was wet but with a dedicated team I surveyed hundreds of people in Sunningdale.  Last week I also spoke with people on low incomes, people with young families and elderly people on fixed-incomes in Windsor, Datchet and Ascot.

It is clear that people feel very agitated about council tax.  No wonder.  It has doubled since introduction a few short years ago.

The bill drops on the mat and we have to pay.  We feel we have no control; it just keeps rising.  We feel we have no choice; our bins cannot be emptied elsewhere.  We feel we are forced to pay; even when services may be poor.

Liberals promised to keep council tax rises to 1.5% for 4 years.  I am glad people are getting wise to Liberal trickery.  They portray a caring image, but hurt us with what they do - and fail to do.  Indecision in council costs us money.

I am so angry with them for fooling people.  Next time you get a cleverly worded Liberal leaflet ask yourself ‘what have they actually done?’.  Or are they duping us again with cunning words, relying on personal attacks on candidates?

Watch them break their 1.5% promise. Watch council tax bills rise as they fall through your letterbox."
