Local Organisations
30-Sep-05, Windsor Express
Column.
"This week I visited Blaze Martial
Arts, a local organisation, which provides martial arts
classes to the local residents. I watched the 7-12 year olds
practicing their skills.
These children not only learn new skills but make
friends, keep fit and become more confident. It was
fascinating to read their reports of how the newly acquired
discipline had helped them with their school work.
There are hundreds of local organisations operating in
the Windsor area which provide similar benefits to children
and adults alike. They often operate as charities and local
clubs are doing much to help keep our children healthy and
off the streets.
I was delighted to witness first hand an organisation
doing so much to provide out of school activities for
children without Government interference.
While funding for youth clubs and adult education has
been cut in many parts of the constituency, it is good to
see others taking up the slack.
In order to survive it is important that as many people
as possible continue to support the good work of charities
and other similar voluntary local organisation.
I will continue to encourage and support local
organisations such as Blaze, who often reach people that
Government organisations fail to reach."

People are happier when making their own decisions.
Business is the engine of the economy that generates our
jobs, incomes and taxes.
Government should not interfere in our lives beyond
protecting and defending us.
