Christmas Wishes for Windsor

It was a great privilege to be elected as the Member of Parliament for Windsor in May.

Since then, I have experienced life in the House of Commons as a “new boy”, learned some of the ropes and been able to assist many of the several thousand constituents who have written to me.

I would like to thank all of the people who have given up their valuable time to help me before, during and after the election. Having knocked on some 35,000 doors, I am constantly thankful for the warm welcome I receive - especially on cold mornings!

It has been a busy time both in Parliament and the constituency so far. With around 500 pieces of correspondence arriving on my desk each week, it is quite a task to keep the paper mountain in check!

In Parliament, having been appointed to the Science and Technology Select Committee, we are currently investigating ways of reducing carbon emissions – surely one of the most pressing issues we all face.

16 hour days are par for the course, and next year promises to be equally as busy as I continue to fight for quieter skies, less anti-social behaviour and an end to insensitive over-development.

I am delighted to serve as the Member of Parliament for our vibrant and beautiful constituency and I would like to wish you all the very best for Christmas and the New Year.
